STATEMENT

La paradoja alegórica del dj implica la remezcla de recursos preexistentes para generar un resultado autónomo, pero que al mismo tiempo mantiene intactas ciertas referencias al original. Desde un contexto hipermoderno donde (casi) todo sobra, el excedente es un concepto que funciona como recurso idóneo, para reciclar y remezclar materiales, objetos, ideas, en obras que surgen de una confluencia entre factores diametralmente opuestos, desde lo sociológico y lo estético. Esta combinación genera un lenguaje visual y un imaginario híbrido que afronta a través de la ironía, una reflexión sobre los fenómenos contemporáneos.

My work adresses the hypermodern era and its repercussions on society, questioning globalization, consumerism and the relation with our own living space and how we control and take advantage of it. I am interested in hiperconsumerism and the concept of commodity as agents that influence art further than representation of the everyday life, generating new forms from those that already exist. Through the different dimensions of sculpture and readymade objects, my work approaches the strains and displacements of our relations and coexistence with objects, ornaments and collective cultural imaginary.
